Questions
How is email marketing ROI calculated?+
We estimate the revenue your sends generate (subscribers × campaigns × click rate × clicker conversion × average order value) and compare it to your monthly cost (tool subscription plus the hours you spend, valued at your hourly rate). ROI % is profit ÷ cost × 100, and the headline figure is simply revenue ÷ cost — the dollars you get back for every dollar you put in.
What counts as a good email marketing ROI?+
Industry studies have long put average email ROI around $36–$42 back for every $1 spent — one of the highest of any channel. That is an average across many senders, so treat it as a benchmark rather than a guarantee. Your own number depends heavily on list quality, offer, and how much urgency your campaigns create.
Why does the calculator include my hours and hourly rate?+
Software cost is only part of the picture — the time you spend building, writing and scheduling emails is a real cost too. Valuing those hours at your hourly rate gives you a truer profit and ROI figure, and shows why anything that lifts revenue without adding hours (like a reusable countdown timer) improves the ratio so quickly.
