Questions
Which calendar apps do these links work with?+
The Google Calendar and Outlook.com buttons open a pre-filled 'new event' screen in those web apps. The downloadable .ics file is the universal option — it imports into Apple Calendar, Outlook desktop, Google Calendar and virtually any calendar app, so a single generator covers every recipient.
Why is there no one-click Apple Calendar link?+
Apple doesn't publish an 'add event' URL scheme the way Google and Outlook do, so there's no reliable link to hand out. The standard workaround is the .ics file: when someone opens it on a Mac or iPhone, Apple Calendar offers to add the event in one tap. That's exactly what the Download .ics button gives you.
Whose timezone do the times use?+
You enter the start and end in your own local time. The generator converts them to UTC inside every link and the .ics file, so each recipient's calendar automatically displays the event in their own timezone — no confusion for a global list.
